OGC President's Message May 2020

Welcome Spring!

As we all spend more time at home, I'm sure that we will be able to enjoy our gardens to the max! I know that I have spent more time than usual outside, planting and transplanting this past month when we had such wonderful weather. My poppies are planted and I have a watchful eye to see their first sprouts! It's not too late so plant those poppy seeds! I wish I could see your gardens, too, because with this "hobby" of ours, everyone's gardens are becoming just a little more fine tuned, a little more special with each passing day.

I've enjoyed sitting on the patio in the mornings with a cup of coffee just listening to the birds. Many times I have thought, "I wish Bobbie were here to tell me what kind of bird I'm hearing today!" I especially like hearing the one that warbles a little and then say "Sweet, sweet, sweet!"

I am hopeful that we will be able to gather for Member's Garden Tours later in the summer because I so enjoyed those visits! If we are able to, it will be with some social distancing guidelines. I hope you can stay home and stay safe. I am really looking forward to seeing all of you when it is once again safe for us to meet.

Until then.......Happy gardening!
